Median published salon prices in the UK (October 2026)

Median is the middle price. P25 and P75 mean a quarter of salons charge less than the P25 price and a quarter charge more than the P75 price (P10 and P90 are the same for 10%). These are prices posted on salon websites, often "from" prices, so they are not what every client pays. Click a service for the city-by-city table.

How we made this report

  • We covered 110 UK cities and towns (8 km around each centre). Places come from Overture Maps and OpenStreetMap. No Google Places data is used.
  • 29,266 salons (hairdressers, barbers, nail, beauty, massage and spa) had a website that we could read. Salons without a website are not in these numbers unless the text says so.
  • An AI model read each website. Every answer needs a quote copied from the site. If the quote is not in the text, the answer is "unknown". Unknown means the site does not say, not "no".
  • 11,644 salons publish prices. We read these again for 21 standard services. Every price has a quote from the site and the number is checked in the quote. Price is the mid-point of "from/to".
  • This is a snapshot from 6-8 October 2026, not a survey of what clients pay. In clean categories about 3% of listed places may not be salons (10-24% in risky categories like spa in some cities).
  • No individual salon is named or shown anywhere in this report.

The salon data was collected for Salon Shortlist, a free guide to UK salons, barbers and beauty places with the details verified on each salon's own website.
